Supporting countries that are still lacking behind.

Why the Americas?
The Americas and Caribbean are developing fast and by now they're characterized by many middle-income countries. However, countries such as Bolivia, Ecuador, Guatemala, and Haiti are lacking behind. Because of these developments, we've discontinued our work in Jamaica, where we've operated from 1988 to 2011, and Brazil, where we've worked from 1993 to 2013. In the Dominican Republic we've handed over our operations to our Dominican sister organization Serviodores Mundiales.

Where in the Americas?
In the coming years, we'll be supporting projects in 4 countries throughout the Americas:

  • In South America, we support an education program in Bolivia and a livelihoods program in Ecuador.
  • In Central America, we support an after-school program in Guatemala.
  • In the Caribbean, we support an education program in Haiti.
