Our Vision

To be a gospel-driven movement of people and communities dedicated to changing the world through serving.

1. Gospel
The gospel is the foundation of everything we do at World Servants. The "good news" that the world was forever changed by Jesus coming to serve us, is what drives our movement. It's faith in the gospel on which our organization is based and we expect our key staff, volunteers, and partners to share this foundation. Read more about our faith-based activities.

2. World
We live in a broken world in which many people lack access to basic services. The gospel drives us to enter into that world and do something about it. At the same time, we realize that we cannot be all things to all people. Therefore, we focus our efforts on those countries and themes where our teams can have the biggest impact. Read more about where we work.

3. People
We believe that there's an inherent worth to all human beings, because they are created in the image of God. Through poverty and injustice, but also through consumerism and individualism, people are not what they are meant to be. We believe that these things can change. That's why we're committed to changing the lives of people in both the Netherlands and developing countries. Read our stories of change.

4. Community
We realize that it's friendship (rather than sermons or programs) that changes people and that it takes a community to change a community. That's why we're committed to working with mission teams (rather than individuals) and sending them out to serve entire communities. Read more about our community-to-community approach.

5. Movement
We have no illusions that our single organization or family of organizations is sufficient to change the whole world. That's why we're committed to working in partnership with others, while at the same time learning from others and contributing to the development of a global movement of servanthood. Read more about our movement.

6. Serving
We believe that people have a deep-seeded desire to change the world, and that this is best done, not through power, but through serving. That's why we're committed to assist people in discovering what contribution they can make to serving others wherever they are. Read more about how we serve.

7. Changing
We believe the best way to truly develop both ourselves and others is to serve. If you take on the role of a servant, you’ll not only change the world, but also change yourself. That's why we're committed to support Christians' and non-Christians' engagement with development in a way that combines both community development and personal development.
